Do I Think I Can Live Happier?

I’ve been reading a new book called Diabetes and the Eleven Mighty Laws, by Salih Valjevac. I am a person with Diabetes, but this book can be for anyone!  If you struggle with ailments, depression, self esteem issues- this book is for you. The book explains how you can live with life happier and healthier by following some simple spiritual laws.

Body Issues

“You are not your body, and your body is not you. You are a being of pure energy. “-Diabetes and The Eleven Mighty Laws (DTEML)

You’re body lives for you, but doesn’t have to have you to live, in a sense.

“Do not confuse your own needs with the needs of your body. Give to your body: what your body needs, how much of it your body needs, and when your body needs it.”DTEML

Maybe you hate your body. You curse it’s existence and can’t wait for the day you leave it behind because of illness or chronic pain? Or, depression keeps you in a constant state of unrest and taking care of your body’s needs is the last thing you want to do? The Laws of Thinking and Attraction tell us that what we think, what thoughts we have regarding our body we attract.

This animosity for our body and anger creates confusion and allows disease within ourselves to fester. We must learn to love and honor our body in it’s imperfections and faults and ask for forgiveness from ourselves. I know it sounds hokey, but I think it opens a channel of healing. I love this quote:

How The Laws Work

“What and how much you receive is determined by what and how much you give. What and how much you give is limited only by your awareness and willingness to give. You are giving from the unlimited source of supply. There can never be shortage of what you can give.” -Salih Valjevac, (DTML).

The Law of Supply

This law states that everything you need to make your life happier and healthier with Diabetes (and more) is available to us. By gaining knowledge and understanding of how to wrap my mind around the other laws, and as always remaining open minded, I can tap into my ability to draw in abundance and prosperity. This again isn’t a foreign concept. Here are some quotes:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they didn’t may have life, and have it abundantly.“ John 10:10

“You made men ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water, Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance.” Psalm 66:12

“Change is the law of the universe. You can be a millionaire or a pauper in an instant.” Bagdavad Gita

Doyou know what you need? Do you have what you need? Abundance is everywhere and we should only look noon find it.This Law states that To me, Abundance is a state of mind. It’s related to positive thinking, whether you look at the glass half full, or half empty.

I need to realize and inventory what it is I feel I need to live abundantly. I also must realize that the supply of those needs are available to me if I reach for them. Abundance doesn’t necessarily mean abundance of wealth only. It can be abundance of anything that may contribute to my wellbeing, peace, prosperity and happiness.

It is difficult for people to cultivate an abundance mentality if they have gone through adversity or hardship for a long time, or if they have suffered from pain, illness, disease, hunger and poverty.  Fear or anger takes over and clouds our minds. Depression and skepticism keeps us from starting the process to free our minds.

It can motivate us to compare and compete instead of recognizing and honoring our actual needs. And it can compel us to constantly wait on what’s to come in the future, instead of enjoying enough in the “now”. Smell the roses.

The abundance of knowledge, skill or talent can be transformed through our focused effort into the abundance of peace and wealth. The abundance of material wealth can be put to right use to create the abundance of spiritual wealth. I believe I have to give back what was freely given to me. Not just money, but time, talent, love and encouragement. I learned that in AA. I believe it to be true.

I also learned that “self knowledge availed us nothing. -AA Big Book” This means knowledge without actions is stagnant. You can have tons of knowledge about your condition, but if you don’t use your knowledge to develop wisdom, well then, what do you have? Uncontrolled Diabetes and other complications. This has been my experience. This is why I am making a change. Trying to develop my knowledge into wisdom and to have life changing results.

I love this quote from Salih’s book: “Instead of tightening up in our thinking, we must relax and be more expanding. We must educate our minds to a larger state of thinking. When we can think and realize more abundance, we shall receive more abundantly. “

Raymond Holliwell

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction states that “Anything that you need for greater health and happiness, if you do not have it already, you can attract in your life.” We have become familiar with this natural law through books and movies like The Secret. What you draw into your life can manifest itself to you. This includes positive and negative. Salih states, “You have the potential. Everyone has it. The question is do you have the will to master the skill of attraction. If you have the will, then it is only a matter of time when you will master it.”

Potential + Willingness + Practice= Mastery

Potential plus willingness, plus practice, equals mastery. These are the ingredients to start taking the 3 steps to master the art of attraction: Interest, Attention, and Expectation.  If you have the interest to start learning and reading this, then you are starting the first step. Pay attention to what interests you. “Learn to listen and watch with attention, and you will see and hear what are you interested in.” The third step was the big one for me, expectation. I realized that I was not only fearing diabetic neuropathy and other complications, but I expected them. I was leaving the door open for them to enter.

Same for heart disease. I expected a bad heart because it was rampant in my family. I got what I attracted. Sometimes I don’t feel I attract certain things specifically, but I do expect rare and unusual problems because of my health history. This kind of thinking is not healthy. Time to switch gears. I expect healing and good health to flow in like a tidal wave.

We Are what We Think We Are

Many of us can use the information available to us to become happier people. Love and abundance are within our reach. Continue prating positive thinking and your li9fe will become a great lightfoot others to follow. You are worth it.
