What to wear to the Kentucky Derby

Horses and High Fashion…what’s not to love about the Kentucky Derby? I would love to go one day. For now I’ll just have to settle with dreaming up lovely outfits for that one day…This year think less costumey and themed, and think pieces that you can wear all summer. Dress them up for the day of the Derby, but dress them down for every day use.

First here is a little bit of advice from Coco Rocha on how to dress for the Derby.photo

A Full Skirt – Wear this with a silk tank or a tie waist blouse. Dress it down later with a cute chambray top.

A Sun Hat – Be sure to check out my previous post (here) on all the fun hats you can wear, but to be safe, get one that you can wear again!

A Ladylike Bag – For Derby day wear them with girly prints and pastels, and afterwards wear them as we pop of color with your outfit.

Classic Jewelry – Keep it simple. If it looks like an heirloom, even better.
